| ¿Why this meeting? |
Telemedicine and telecare will be one of the biggest changes to affect health care delivery in the
21st century.
TeleSalud'03 will take place in November 2003 in Madrid taking advantage of an exhibition (SIMO TCI).
The meeting will bring European suppliers of telemedicine & telecare equipment and services, as well
as providers in e-health, together with distributors and healthcare professionals and institutional
decision makers from Latin America.
The promoters of the meeting consider that the giving of telehealth services:
- constitutes an emergent business subsector
- has sufficient identity
- stresses the top priority for the economic EU cooperation, and
- in spite of its emergent character Telehealth is still relatively non structured in Europe and
Latin America from the point of view of missions, specific exhibitions and meetings organised that
could stimulate business cooperation.
In particular, in the frame of the Al-Invest program, Telesalud'03 is the first specifically organised
meeting joining medical technology and development of Information and Communication new Technologies
(ICT) companies.
